Morningside Baptist Church have offered their shop front space to visitors and residents to pray 24 hours from 7pm on the 17th of August.
John White of 24-7 Prayer Scotland shares how the initiative comes from the desire to offer a space where worshipers can pray non-stop for artists, performers, visitors and residents of a city which overnight almost doubles in size!
As well as the 24-7 Prayer space, prayers will be taking to the streets specifically asking the many festival goers for their prayer requests. This day of prayer will end with an hour-long public prayer event outside St Giles at 7:14 on the 18th August.
‘Two thousand years ago the Holy Spirit came in power to a 24-7 prayer room located in a busy city during the heart of a great festival and the rest is, of course, history. I am therefore thrilled about these plans for establishing a 24-7 prayer room at the heart of one of the world’s greatest festivals and can’t wait to hear what happens through so much prayer.’ Pete Greig
